Shane Parrish in his email newsletter FS wrote something very insightful.
“A huge obstacle to success is a fear of appearing foolish.
When we learn to walk, we fall over and over again until we can do it. We look foolish until the minute we don’t. That is how we learn.
As adults, we often tell ourselves that failing in front of other people is bad, so we don’t try things that might make us look foolish.”
This is spot on.
Do you fear appearing foolish in front of others?
Success (the one you have dreamt of) is waiting for you on the other side. All you have to do is take the next step. And not worry about appearing foolish or making a mistake.
P.S. In case you were curious what FS stood for, it’s Farnam Street. And why is this special? The business address of Berkshire Hathaway is 3555 Farnam Street.
