What do you think takes the longest to finish (for most people) in our industry/profession?
.
.
.
.
.
.
J.R.R. Tolkien observed, “It is the job that is never started that takes the longest to finish.”
Isn’t this true?
Here are a few examples…
The thing (whatever that thing is) that you were thinking of starting. The Person that you were going to hire. The Book that you were going to write. The New Client Experience and Technology you were planning to implement. Changing how you conduct the First Meeting. Collaborating with a world class firm (Hint: HF) and many others.
To make progress, we must begin sooner than we think we need to…by that I mean now, however shoddy your work is. Seek help from world class professionals to get better (and there is help available). Even the best have coaches!
Let Perfection not be a place to hide for you. By this I mean, many people like to give an excuse – I don’t want to do something for the sake of doing it. I want to do it perfectly.
Have you ever given this excuse?
I know of many who do this regularly (I do it occasionally too). And it is this type of person that never starts.
Are you that type of person?
As we all know – Well begun is Half Done.
The key then is to get started…When?
Right NOW!
