In his book, ‘Blend Out’, Robert Sofia wrote, “There is a battle going on in resource-rich states like Texas over the mineral rights on private property. Basically, if you don’t buy the mineral rights, someone else can, and they can mine those precious resources right from under your house.”
Many distributors and advisors are sitting on a mine of minerals (relationships, connections and data). Unknowingly, many in our industry end up letting these precious resources go right from under their business. We don’t pay enough attention to these minerals. We don’t have a 100% heart, mind, and wallet share with our clients. And we don’t think of it as important either. We resign to the fact that our clients will not solely work with us. We keep adding clients and at the same time let others take our precious minerals away.
If you don’t mine…there are others who will…
As always, the choice is yours…
We spend so much time trying to make everything in our lives as easy and convenient as possible. Sometimes that’s a good idea.
