What do you make of the Headline word?
Hint: ROAD essentially stands for an acronym in our industry, and it’s connected to last week’s Nano.
Did you get it?
ROAD stands for Retired on Active Duty.
There are many in our industry who fall in this category (Retired on Active Duty).
In such firms, there is no active recruiting of new clients. This is because the owner is no more focused on the growth of the firm and is largely focused on the personal lifestyle. Others in the firm are incapable of getting ideal clients on board. Therefore, the growth in such firms is only restricted to the growth of the stock market and an occasional new client addition here or there…
It’s a precarious position that can lead to obsolescence, especially as competitors continue to innovate and expand.
Are you Retired on Active Duty?
To combat the complacency of being ‘Retired on Active Duty,’ you must rekindle the drive that propelled you to success in the first place. It’s essential to re-evaluate business strategies, re-engage with the market, and most importantly, reconnect with clients’ evolving needs. You must instil a culture of growth, curiosity, and client-centric innovation, creating an environment where new ideas flourish and new clients are welcomed. This forward momentum is the lifeblood of a thriving firm, ensuring relevance and resilience in an industry where change is the only constant. The ROAD ahead requires active steering, not just passive riding.
